4 DIY Beauty Masks You Can Do At Home!

As a busy Mum I really don’t have the time nor money to be spending up big on beauty treatments. I am quite selective on what I spend it on. Usually on things I can’t do myself like a massage. So I do a couple of these masks on a Friday night and weekends to help me relax and unwind. And I love the fact that I have most of these ingredients in the pantry and fridge. I must add that I usually apply the masks and unwind further with a glass of wine in hand.

Here are 4 of my Favorites:

ALL SKIN TYPES, remember to always do a patch test first.

Vinegar Facial Masks

What Vinegar you say?? Well it’s a well been know that it’s been used as a skin toner dating back to the time of Helen of Troy, and it’s just as effective today. After you’ve washed your face, mix 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar with 2 cups water as a finishing rinse to cleanse and tighten your skin.

You can also create a homemade facial mask by mixing ¼  cup cider vinegar with ¼ cup water. Gently apply the solution to your face and let it dry. Once dry gently remove with luke warm water.

EXFOLIATING OATS

All you do is: Combine 1 tsp honey and 1 tsp olive oil.

Separately, prepare a packet of plain oats, using less water than called for so it forms a thick paste. Next, add the honey and olive oil mixture to the cooked oatmeal. Apply as a scrub, gently rubbing it in small circles over your skin, avoiding the eye area.

Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. This mask can be done twice weekly. The oats in this scrub exfoliates, while the honey and olive oil moisturize the skin.

OIL CLEANSE

Oh yes you can! Oil is a great cleanser for all skin types.

This facial, combines 1 tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and ½ teaspoon of lemon oil (not to be confused with lemon juice; lemon oil is an essential oil that can be found at health food stores). The mixture should be a little bit runny but not easily poured out. Massage it over skin, then immediately wipe it off with a washcloth soaked in tepid water. This can be done daily. Use good quality oil and you’ll be surprised at how clean your skin will feel. Just be careful around the eye area [the mixture] tends to be very sticky face lifting & tightening mask

Great for Oil and Blemish prone skin
