ROOLA BOOLA CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL 2016

City of Stonnington presents ROOLA BOOLA CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL 2016

Tuesday 28 June to Friday 8 July 2016

Roola Boola Children’s Arts Festival is one of Melbourne’s most-loved school holiday events held annually for 4-12 year olds. The unique festival is back for its seventh year, running from Tuesday 28 June to Friday 8 July with fantastic free and ticketed events happening daily. Bring your imagination to life through interactive play at Roola Boola!

Roola Boola Children’s Arts Festival 2016 is expanding across both weeks of the June/July school holidays and will incorporate several satellite venues with Chapel Off Chapel and Functions on Chapel continuing as the hubs for central festival activity and programming.

This year’s program is packed with interactive performances and workshops spanning theatre, dance, music, magic, circus and craft to inspire and encourage kids to get up and moving!

Headlining this year’s festival is Australia’s 2013 Aria Award winning children’s entertainer Justine Clarke who will perform an intimate showing of Justine Clarke Sings! This popular and much loved entertainer will encourage young audiences to engage their imagination through song and movement. Her show features songs kids love and know from all her albums, including A Little Day Out.

Other 2016 festival highlights include the famous Melbourne City Ballet with a performance of Tink, Gillian Eastoe and Terry Murray with award winning What Style and We Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, a unique shadow interpreted performance of Reasons to Stay Inside by Kate Warner and a performance by the Quiet Achievers; both suitable for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Run away and join the circus! The National Institute of Circus Arts and Le Petit Circus know how to deliver fun, interactive and memorable workshops and performances for children and family members of all ages!

Embrace your creative side at Chapel Off Chapel with See Make Play and learn how to weave your own mini wall hanger or create your own sand art creature!

The City of Stonnington Mayor, Claude Ullin is available for comment or interview.
